Lost Weekend

It does feel a bit like that around here. I seem to have spent all my time lying around unable to do much of anything except sleep.

Despite canceling my birthday plans, I did have a few pleasant surprises though; first, JM bought me flowers. What a sweet man he is. He said he felt bad that my birthday had not turned out well and didn't want me to feel too sad. Then, our good friend Noƫlle, librarian extraordinaire, came by and gave me a beautiful Japanese tea set. I felt quite spoiled.

It was good that I didn't have anyone over for dinner though. During the afternoon, it was warmer and sunny so I thought I'd take the dogs out for their walk and get some fresh air. But I felt so out of breath that I had to sit down halfway and rest in order to make it home. I would have been loads of fun at a dinner party.

I don't feel too picked upon, however, as it seems that half the village is down with this or something similar. And, yesterday we went into Limoux to go to the dentist and I thought I would stop in at the pharmacy there. There was a line of people going out the door! Clearly, it's everywhere.

But, who are we to complain after the surprise tornadoes that hit Florida over the weekend. That sort of helps to put things into perspective. At least we are warm and dry. A little coughing is nothing in comparison to having 200 mph winds knocking down your house in the middle of the night.

Ciao for now.

Randy
