Bad Possum Checking In

I have been a bad Possum, and I apologize. It must be the summertime weather playing havoc with my sense of duty! I keep meaning to sit down and write a new Possumworld entry, and then, POOF, the day is mysteriously gone and I have accomplished nothing.

Well, it’s not true that nothing gets done, just not always the things that I have planned. Mornings seem to disappear in running errands, cleaning, cooking and all the minutiae of life; sometimes, I don’t even get to really go through all my email until after lunch.

I do try to put afternoons aside for writing, but alas, Possumworld then takes a backseat to my correcting the next Black Coat Press manuscript that needs to get finished. There are other interruptions, of course: visits from friends and neighbors, taking Maggie for her long afternoon promenade through the gardens, making an afternoon cup of tea, etc. Then, POOF again, it’s time to prepare dinner!

Even with these long, bright summer evenings, I don’t usually return to the computer after that. We take another nice walk, visit with neighbors, catch up on the days events, and then we snuggle down to watch THE DAILY SHOW, and a film that we’ve recorded. The time just flies by!

Over the next few weeks, life will get even busier as summer guests begin to arrive. Friends, Diane and Evan, will return from Los Angeles. Another Angelino friend, Veronica (our ex-neighbor) might be coming over for a painting holiday, then, JM’s parents are due for a weeklong stay in August. I know that Stuart and Leslie will also be here this summer, and there may be other friends of the Possum Kingdom dropping by as well. Whew! I’m already exhausted just thinking about it!

I am going to try to be a better Possum, though, and update Possumworld more frequently. And, just to let you know, we’ve recently updated our website and posted a lot of pics taken over the last few months.
